Reminder: Tomorrow is the Pillar of Care assembly and our class is running it! Homework: Read for 20 minutes every night. Daily Learning: Today the Daily 5 continued as usual. The students also wrote about empathy and how important it is in our daily lives. We had another basic facts quiz (we have them every 3 weeks) and we practiced for the assembly. We also had gym where we continued belly ball and we prepared for our science labs which will take place tomorrow. jaberry@cbe.ab.ca

Reminders: Pillars of Care assembly this Friday. Homework: 20 minutes of reading.  Daily Learning: Daily 5 continued as usual. We are seeing some huge growth in reading since the beginning of the year. Today we picked our topics for opinion writing and did research on the computers to support our opinions. In math, we learned a new game called lahal and are using it to discuss statistics and probability. In social studies we discussed the expansion of Canada after Confederation.

Homework: Read for 20 minutes per night. Reminders: No school or Friday or next Monday. Daily Learning: Daily 5 continued as usual. In science the students are learning about solutions. We will have experiments for the next 3 days. We are currently working on opinion writing and in math we made probability wheels and tried to determine the outcomes of each spin. jaberry@cbe.ab.ca

April 6

Homework: Read for 20 minutes. Daily Learning: The daily 5 continued as usual. In science we continued our weather charting and have a really good idea of the climate in Calgary. In social studies, we talked about John A. MacDonald and his importance to Confederation. Tomorrow we will get to do our art activity with the artist in residence. We also worked on opinion writing, where the students wrote about something they thought was either the best or the worst. We continue to work on empathy habits and in gym played capture the gold.
